The Pakistani company has won a contract worth 144 million UAE dirhams in Dubai Air Show 2021. According to the UAE news agency WAM, the UAE Ministry of Defense has signed seven major defence procurement deals worth 22 billion UAE dirhams on the fourth day of the exhibition.
The biggest deal at the air show was the purchase of ammunition for the Air Force and air defence system with US company Alliant Tech Systems Operations, valued at 175.8 million UAE dirhams. Defense Ministry spokeswoman Lt. Col. Sarah Hamad Al-Hajri said that an agreement of 144 million dirhams had been signed with the Pakistani company Global Industrial and Defense Solutions (GIDS) for the supply of various weapons.
Lt. Col. Sarah Hamad al-Hajri said that an agreement has also been reached with the American company Lockheed Martin Global Inc. to provide technical support and purchase of spare parts for the Air Force and Air Defense Command Systems. A Defense Ministry spokesman said the defence deals at the 2019 Dubai Air Show were worth about 18 billion dirhams.
