Saudi Arabia and Pakistan resume talks on the refinery project

Jeddah (Special Report)

The Ambassador of Pakistan said that there are good relations with Saudi Arabia at all levels but there is more focus on enhancing economic relations. Work is being done in this regard.

The Supreme Coordination Council was established between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

It has three main pillars: political, economic and cultural. The focus is more on economic relations.
The Corona epidemic has caused some problems, but work is now being resumed. It should be noted that the purpose of the Council is to improve and smooth the bilateral cooperation between the two countries so that the obstacles in the way of investment agreements were removed.

The Ambassador of Pakistan said that “Saudi Arabia had announced the refinery project in Pakistan, it is still in force, this mega project is being renegotiated”.

“We are talking about where and on what scale the refinery will be located. There are suggestions in this regard which will be put forward soon,” he said.۔ It may be recalled that during the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman to Pakistan in February 2019, investment agreements worth 20 20 billion were signed by Saudi Arabia, including an agreement to set up a refinery.
