Increase in Corona cases, reduction of green pass period, increase in precautionary measures.

Abu Dhabi (Special Report)

Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority official spokesman Dr Tahir-ul-Amiri, while announcing the update of the green pass system on the Al-Hassan app, said that its validity had been reduced from 30 days to 14 days. According to the state-run news agency WAM, he said the update would apply to all categories from Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

This decision will take effect on Monday, June 20, 2022, due to the examination period for those working in the education sector and students. He said that the verification process would be tightened in all the places where the Al-Hassan app is used. He said that there had been an increase in coronary cases recently. With the increasing rate of hospital admissions, the number of cases has increased by more than 100% in one week.
It has also been shown to be effective in reducing the spread of the disease. He noted that various sections of society have recently shown negligence in banning the wearing of masks in closed areas. He said that it was mandatory to wear masks in closed areas and according to the people, violators would be fined up to 3,000 dirhams.

Dr Tahir-ul-Amiri said that a small group of people infected with coronavirus showed a lack of commitment to isolation, which is a threat to the safety of society and the spread of the virus among the people. “Our front line guards in the UAE have been working continuously for two years and because of their efforts, the country has overcome the epidemic and recovered,” he said.

He said that due to the non-implementation of precautionary measures, the infection has increased. He urged the people to take necessary precautions including wearing masks in closed places, avoiding crowded places, being careful while travelling and conducting regular tests.
