The UAE’s public prosecutor has clarified the penalties for misleading consumers through advertisements and publicity campaigns. According to the state-run news agency Wam, the public prosecutor said in a video released on his social media accounts that any person who Advertising goods or services through misleading advertisements through technology sources or online platforms or using inaccurate data or advertising, promotion, broking, or transacting in any form of virtual or digital currency, Valuable assets or any unit of payment that is not officially recognized in the UAE or encourages dealing without obtaining a license from a competent authority is liable to imprisonment and a minimum of 20,000 and a maximum of 500,000 dirhams. There will be a fine or one of the two punishments.
