Pakistani-born British Councillor Asim Rashid has been sworn in as Mayor of Rochdale. Mrs. Riffat Rashid has been elected Mayor of Rochdale.

Asim Rashid, a British councilor of Pakistani descent, has been elected the fourth Asian Lord Mayor of Rochdale Council.

Asim Rashid is from Lahore, Pakistan.
Ali Ahmed, a British councillor of Bangladeshi descent, has been elected deputy mayor of Rochdale for the first time.

Concert of Mayor Rochdale Councillor Sultan Ali took oath.

Special participation of Member of Parliament Tony Lloyd from Rochdale, Consul General of Pakistan Manchester Tariq Wazir, Commercial Secretary Consulate General of Pakistan Manchester Muhammad Akhtar on the swearing in of Lord Mayor.

Apart from them, former Lord Mayor Council of Rochdale Bailey Shereen, Deputy Leader Councillor Adalat Ali, Former Mayor Councillor Muhammad Zaman, Councillor Prof Iftikhar Ahmed, Councillor Shakeel Ahmed, Councillor Aftab Ahmed, Councillor Wazir Shah, Councillor Samina Zaheer, Conductor Amna Mir, Councillor Rana Faisal, Councillor Iram Faisal, senior journalists and businessmen attended.
