A delegation led by Sheikh Ijaz Ahmed, a prominent Pakistani community figure from the UK, called on Asim Rashid, the newly elected Mayor of Rochdale Council, UK, in his chamber. Rana Khalid Rauf, business personalities Iqbal Siddiqui, Atif Riaz, Sanju Bhai, Muhammad Owais, social personality Sehar Ali, Samira Ashraf were present.
He congratulated Asim Rashid on assuming the responsibilities of the mayorship and reiterated his commitment that Mayor Asim Rashid would use all his resources to serve the community. On the occasion, Mayor Asim Rashid said that we are proud to live in the UK and work together with other communities in an intercultural society and today hold high positions. I fully supported and hoped for political and social work.
We will continue to work together in the future. Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed said that it is a happy moment for us that Councilor Asim Rasheed has been elected as the Mayor. Personal Muqaddas Majeed said that he congratulated Asim Rashid on his election as Mayor. He hoped that he would fulfill our expectations.
Social figure Sehar Ali said he hoped Mayor Asim Rashid would meet the expectations of the Asian community. Young businessman Muhammad Owais said he has many services for the community and hopes to do more for the community during his mayorship.
Samira Ashraf said that she hoped that Mayor Asim Rasheed would meet the expectations of all the community living in Rochdale. Mayor Asim Rashid was given a special shield by the business community for his community services.
