The High Commissioner visited Birmingham and spoke with the community and religious leaders

On the first leg of his visit to the West Midlands and South Wales, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Moazzam Ahmad Khan, visited the General of the Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham on 23 June 2021. In addition to meeting with consulate officials, he spoke with religious leaders. Practically and personally, prominent members of Pakistani descent and the Pakistani community.

In his address to the leaders, the High Commissioner highlighted the need to promote greater harmony and understanding between the different religions and sects of Islam. He encouraged the leaders to use their sermons for love, inclination, understanding and goodwill among and within different faith groups.

He also called on honest leaders to play a key role in encouraging vaccination against COVID-19.


Appreciating the contribution of the Pakistani community in the growth and development of Pakistan along with the growth of the UK, the High Commissioner said that Dye and Pakistan could play an important role in presenting a real and positive statement. He also urged the community to play its role in further strengthening the friendly relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The High Commissioner apprised the audience of the steps taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan to facilitate overseas Pakistanis, including Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) and several other schemes for the welfare and facilities of Overseas Pakistanis included.
