Organizational activities have begun to pick up again in the UK after the Corona Lockdown ban was lifted.
The annual meeting of the Press Club of Pakistan UK was held on July 7, 2021, at the Perry Perry Kebabish Restaurant Oldham.
The meeting was chaired by Ejaz Afzal Sheikh Chairman Press Club of Pakistan and Chaudhry Arif Pandhir President Press Club of Pakistan UK.
The meeting was called for new elections after the two-year constitutional term of the Press Club’s select committee expired. Presenting their suggestions, senior journalists Taseer Ahmed and Shaukat Quraishi, members of the Press Club, said that due to the Corona epidemic, the present committee did not get ample opportunity to work. No change should be made so that all officials can perform their duties to the fullest.
All the members present in the meeting agreed on this and by mutual consultation, the team of President Chaudhry Arif Pandhir was given an extension of one year.
President Press Club Chaudhry Arif Pandhir thanked all the members for their confidence in their leadership. He said that he would continue to raise the voice of the rights of Asian journalists in the UK and would continue to play his role in highlighting the problems of the Pakistani community in the UK.
Chairman Ijaz Afzal Sheikh said that the journalists played an exemplary role during the Corona epidemic and all the members of the club who have been guiding their community have unanimously decided that President Chaudhry Arif Pandhir and his entire team for one more year work. We welcome the new members The senior executive of the club Chaudhry Hassan congratulated President Chaudhry Arif Pandhir on becoming the President of the Press Club of Pakistan for one more year and said that we are committed to the development and promotion of journalists and the community issues. We will continue to play a role in finding a solution.
Taseer Chaudhry, Vice President of the Club, congratulated Chaudhry Arif and said that on this occasion, I strongly condemn the atrocities committed against the journalist brothers in Pakistan and demand from the Government of Pakistan to take action against the journalist community. Reduce excesses.
Muqaddas Majeed, a new member of the club, said that he met eminent journalists at the dinner and that is why he could not stay without becoming a member of the club and will work with them in future.
Apart from Hassan Chaudhry, Executive Member Press Club, Chaudhry Taseer Ahmed, Shaukat Qureshi, Rana Khalid Rauf Chaudhry, Azhar Ori and Mahmood Asghar Chaudhry attended the meeting.
The meeting was attended by journalists Mohammad Amir Khan, Azhar Abbas and Muqaddas Majeed as observers. Which he gladly accepted and now he has become a regular member of the Press Club of Pakistan.
Later, prominent Kashmiri leader and businessman Chaudhry Sajjad Hussain congratulated the President of Press Club of Pakistan UK Chaudhry Arif Pandhir and all the officials and gave a sumptuous dinner to all the members of the club.
A cake was also cut by President Chaudhry Arif Pandhir and gifts were also given to all the members.
