New scheme for overseas Pakistanis, protected from plot occupiers

Dubai (Special Report)

The SBP has introduced the ‘Roshan Apna Ghar’ scheme for overseas Pakistanis to purchase property in Pakistan while living abroad.

An inaugural ceremony was held in Islamabad on Friday in which Prime Minister Imran Khan said that overseas Pakistanis are our asset but unfortunately it was not taken advantage of like other assets. He said that remittances are sent overseas which was recorded during our tenure.

He said that overseas Pakistanis want to do something for the country but the corrupt system here is an obstacle in their way. However, now the system is being improved, they are being given incentives.

Referring to the Roshan Ghar scheme, the Prime Minister said that Pakistanis live in any country but want to build houses in Pakistan but the occupation groups here would often occupy their plots.

The advantage of the Roshan Ghar scheme is that it will have a bank guarantee and the plot will not be occupied. According to the Central Bank of Pakistan, the ‘Roshan Apna Ghar’ scheme is an excellent facility for overseas Pakistanis who have Roshan digital accounts.

Under the scheme, Pakistanis residing in a country other than Pakistan will be able to obtain financing through home banking or Islamic banking to purchase a home through their bright digital account.
