Chairman NADRA, Muhammad Tariq Malik along with High Commissioner Moazzam Ahmad Khan inaugurated the Certificate of Success Certificate at Pakistan High Commission London today.
As a first step, the facility will enable Pakistanis abroad from Punjab, Sindh and Islamabad to process their succession certificates within 15 days of applying.
Earlier, succession certificates were issued by the courts for which the entire family had to go to Pakistan. Instead of this counter, only one member of the family will have to go to Pakistan to start the succession certificate application while the rest of the family members will have to submit their biometrics to the NADRA wing of the High Commission or give their consent online.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Malik said that this facility would ensure the issuance of succession certificates in a transparent, safe and orderly manner which would facilitate the heirs. The digital certificate, described by the chairman, has various security features with the facility of real-time verification.
The High Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Chairman and his team in digitizing basic services safely and effectively for the common citizens of Pakistan.
He also shared insights on how to further streamline the certification process, including applying abroad and paying fees.
A succession certificate is a required document issued to a successor who establishes ownership of movable and immovable property.
The High Commissioner later took the Chairman on a tour of the Consular Services Wing of the Mission. Manager NADRA Manchester Syed Imran Haider also graced the occasion.
