Shah Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Services has signed two agreements with the World Food Program. According to the state-run news agency SPA, the agreements were signed on behalf of the Shah Salman Center by Dr Abdullah Al-Rubayeh and David Wali, Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP) in Rome. The first agreement will help Syrian refugees in Jordan, benefiting 112,000 people.
The second agreement will implement a food program for children in Pakistan, which will benefit 66,414 people. Under the first agreement, the Shah Salman Center will meet the nutritional needs of Syrian refugees living in the Al-Azraq camp in Jordan’s Al-Zarqa province.
Food will also be provided to Syrian refugees from Al-Zaatari Camp and Arbad Camp. The second agreement will provide assistance to pregnant women and child-rearing women in disaster-stricken areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. These women are raising children affected by malnutrition. It will help them in their mission. In addition, care will be provided for children in healthcare centres. Useful information on public health and nutrition will be provided. The WFP director said that the food program would be implemented in 14 regions of Pakistan on a priority basis.
