Amir Khurram Rathore, Pakistan’s new ambassador to Saudi Arabia, said: “It is proposed to collect data on Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia.
A registration campaign is being considered in this regard.
Pakistan’s new ambassador to Saudi Arabia has, for the first time since taking office, addressed an informal conversation with journalists and a community gathering at the Jeddah Consulate.
Responding to a question, he said, “The main reason for the problems faced by Pakistanis in the country in residency, employment and other reasons is that we do not have any data.”
There is a lack of comprehensive information on how many Pakistanis are in which areas of the country and which jobs.
“Community support is needed for data collection. Doctors, engineers and other groups can play an effective role in this,” he said. In this regard, help is also being sought from Pakistani institutions and the Saudi government.
We want to know how many Pakistani workers come to Saudi Arabia every day or every month from Pakistan, where they are in the country and what they do. What is their legal status?
