News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a common practice among many people across the globe to employ weight-loss efforts before their big day but a newlywed bride has revealed that doing so was the \u201cbiggest regret\u201d of her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported by\u00a0<em>The Mirror<\/em>, the bride, Laura Fragoso, said that she was victimised by society and was compelled to fall into the trap of getting slim before tying the knot.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex now that she looks at her wedding photographs, she cannot recognise herself. \u201cMy biggest wedding regret,\u201d Laura wrote in a TikTok video caption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said that throughout her life, she had to hear from other women how a bride should be of a certain weight on her big day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI grew up hearing my entire life by several women in my family \u2014\u00a0 \u2018I was 100 pounds (45 kilogrammes) when I got married\u2019,\u201d she said. \u201cI can\u2019t tell you how many times I\u2019ve heard that phrase!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Laura further added that she had to be very restrictive about her diet before the wedding day in order to lose weight, and as a result, her weight kept fluctuating between a size eight and a size ten but she eventually ended up buying a size six dress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI stressed myself out so much that I ended up getting heart palpitations and to this day I have an extra heartbeat \u2014 which I didn\u2019t have before planning my wedding,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll this to say \u2014 you don\u2019t need to lose weight for your wedding \u2013 that is your goal and that\u2019s going to benefit you past your wedding day \u2013 then go for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut if you are doing it because you too have heard this narrative that a bride needs to be 100 pounds on her wedding day, then you need to step off the scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd you need to remember that your value has nothing to do with the number on a scale or a
