Over 25 years ago, a unique concept for an internet search engine that would classify and rank web pages was developed by two Stanford University students during a brainstorming session in their dorm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BackRub, initially a startup, transformed into Google, a globally influential company with products like Gmail and Search used by billions, while its co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin ranked among the world\u2019s richest people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Google Inc was incorporated on September 4, for more than a decade the company has celebrated its birthday on September 27 with unique doodles displayed on its search engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, this year, Google Inc\u00a0decided to take a \u201cwalk down memory lane\u201d and showcased a series of creative different doodles, including doodles of previous logos, to mark this special occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year\u2019s Google Doodle comes with a GIF that shows the term \u2018Google\u2019 going through a series of transformations before finally transforming to \u2018G25gle\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tech giant said that it was using this day as a \u201ctime to reflect\u201d while being oriented towards the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cToday\u2019s Doodle celebrates Google\u2019s 25th year. And while here at Google we\u2019re oriented towards the future, birthdays can also be a time to reflect. Let\u2019s take a walk down memory lane to learn how we were born 25 years ago,\u201d Google wrote in its blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Google was founded by Sergey Brin and Larry Page in the late 90s, who met in Stanford University\u2019s computer science program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They shared a vision to make the World Wide Web more accessible, working tirelessly from their dorm rooms to develop a better search engine prototype.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs they made meaningful progress on the project, they moved the operation to Google\u2019s first office \u2014 a rented garage. On September 27, 1998, Google Inc was officially born,\u201d according to the blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the company emphasised that much has changed since 1998, but also said that its mission has remained the same which is \u201cto organise the world\u2019s information and make it universally accessible and useful\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thanking users for \u201cevolving with us over the past 25 years,\u201d Google added, \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to see where the future takes us, together\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Google\u2019s CEO, Sundar Pichai, celebrated the company\u2019s birthday by reflecting on its journey in a note last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He looked back on the company\u2019s role in technology transformation, and its future path while thanking users, employees, and partners for their contributions to Google\u2019s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also praised the constant innovation challenge and commended the dedication of past and present Googlers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
